In the original canon, she was always a mermaid. She attended classes in a wheelchair. I thought that Atlantis went with Crisis, too.

Lori exists post-crisis. She even had some brief relationship to Superman, although she figures more prominently in Aquaman's stories these days.

Alas, no. She even had to go through an entire arc where she threatened the Clark/Lois relationship during their post-Crisis engagement. It was pretty annoying.
I'm not sure if Zero Hour did anything to her though.
