Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This format, text file.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Got it, thanks ita.

I don't think there was ever a firefly deathmatch.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

ita, why don't you send me the file of Firefly quotes, then, and I will winnow it down.

It's in the spreadsheet I linked to above, Lee.

I don't think there was ever a firefly deathmatch.

I'd suggest waiting until firefly is actually dead.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I like the Firefly quotes (like Robin who is eternally wise), but I can see where if you don't get the context, not so much fun.

I feel qualmy about pruning the list though. I gues if someone submitted them, it feels presumptuous to cull without his or her input. Imagine if you all had submitted stuff. would you want a say in what stays and goes?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Coming back from way before...

I'm with Wolfram that we should wait to actually deathmatch Firefly. But IMO, a lot of the Firefly qoutes up there are good lines, but not necessarily great quotes. I'd like to whittle them down some.

Basically typing out loud here...

If we took, say, five or ten quotes from the file at a time, voted (or polled, since I hate to throw the word vote around here lightly) for the top half of however many in each group, and did that until we got to a number roughly comparable to the number of Buffy and Angel quotes in the file...would that work?

We have 720 quotes already -- I think there may be some prep work that can be done before next September (is that what you meant?) since it's actually bothering people (not including me -- when I do bother to look up, I like anything that makes me think about the episode).

Why would you have to wait until the movie anyway?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'd like to submit Wonderfalls quotes. I'm writing synopses for TM.net, soon, and would like to put in a handful.

ita, let me know how to prep them and what file format (.txt?) to send them, and after the holidays I put them together.

If that's okay with everyone else. I thought maybe about 25-30 quotes to mix it up? There's only 13 eps to work from, so maybe less.

ita, I meant waiting until after we see what happens with the movie before deathmatching firefly quotes. Since I fully expect lots of quotable goodness come [date removed so as not to jinx it again.]

As far as the firefly list on the quote-o-meter, I think it should be culled down and I'm pretty sure the submitter would have no problem with that, although he/she can easily be asked. And I'm happy to bullshit consense that Lee do it.
