There have now been three instances where I go to a post of someone I have blocked, hit "temporarily view this post", had the page reload, and have the post still be blocked.

Sue, ita cleared out subscriptions, so you have to re-subscribe to stuff. That should fix it. It did for me, anyway.

So far I haven't been able to break anything. I've unblocked using both the in-thread unblock link and the profile page. Temporary reveal works fine for me ... a post remains unblocked until I leave the page and come back. Nothing wonky with subscriptions. Threadsucking worked fine.
