It creates a post that disables everything on the page column below the error. My guess as to the problem with trying to fix it is that the edit page displays the damaged post above the posting box, so the same disabling happens to the "post" button of the edit page, and you can't update.
Also, I noticed while hovering my mouse over a particular link while looking at the broken page yesterday, the hover text seemed to indicate that php (or whatever is generating the page code) tries to resolve the screwy link by creating an unresolvable nest of tables.
Not that this helps. I just kind of felt like mentioning it, just in case.
I was just reading the Lost thread, clicked "next" and got the end of the Bitches thread. Talk about a double-take.
Are you sure you didn't accidently hit Read New?
I wasn't in my Message center. It wigs me out. I just stay on the front page. Also, not subscribed to Lost, though I generally do subscribe, even though I don't use it. So I'm pretty sure I couldn't have been.
Unless I'm insane. Which reading the above convinces me I have a strong case for that.
Read New is always there, not just in the Message Center. It's the leftmost link. Which is kind of hard to accidentally click when Next is the way on the right, so.
Huh. True. Maybe I did, then. I've had kids crawling all over me. A screen-wide mouse-wobble is not unheard of.
Trying to do the tag work on display rather than save is being a pain in the butt. The code in the lab works on save. I'm out.
ok, not being a programmer - did the stuff Rob was working on a while back get dropped unfinished?
This stuff Gus was just working on was what? correcting links and long posts? did that get completed or also dropped?
Can I request that before anyone picks up something new to work on, provided there are people interested in working on stuff, that we finish anything in progress or start working off the top of the request list.
Not being a programmer type, I totally and completely am grateful to those who have the knowledge and skills to help out the board and are generous enough to volunteer to do so. The board is awesome thanks to you all.
Also, my offer for cookies to programmers always stands.
Feeling a little ouchy from that post, msbelle. I didn't "drop" anything. The items I was working on are a few posts back. Some bugs cropped up in some work-list items, now repaired in the lab, and a notion ita had turned out to be more work than it paid out.
So, you have to send cookies to tommyrot, or I shall pout.
I've stumbled onto something that may make the format-before-posting even simpler, Gus -- PHP has a tidy library of functions, one of which may be applicable. I'm working with istrata support to get it installed.
And may I say, for the record, iStrata support is very helpful at all hours.
