And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

And if there anything Matt knows how to do, it's unzip something to get something large.

Tip yer waitresses.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

If you can threadsuck an entire thread, you should be able to open one of the HTML files in the archives, because all they are are saved threadsucks. On a Mac, you may need some software to open the zip file to get at the HTML file, but Stuffit will do it, and I'm sure there are other utilities that can. FWIW, I've been able to open the HTML files in Netscape 4.78 on a PII-266 machine with Win 95 installed with no problem other than it taking a couple of minutes to load. I realize it's now a Mac, but it's hardly state of the art.

The unzipping's not the problem, nor do I think it's a memory issue (I have 1024 MB RAM on my work computer, and a 1.4 GHz processor). Whatever the problem is, it's hitting me when I try to open the saved html file in IE. Large threadsucks tend to take a while to process, but they don't freeze the program up like the archived threads do.

This did motivate me to look into installing a newer version of Netscape, so maybe I'll have luck with that. (Hopefully it's not all buggy like 7.0 was...)

ETA: Netscape 7.1 seems to handle it just fine. I still have no idea why IE locks up trying to open the files, though.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

There has been an error. It's of the type we call fatal. Please don't be scared. You're not the one that's going to die.

Okay, where the $$&#&(@#& are the developers?

Posted in Movies. Post went through anyway. The problem's probably on my end, since I've been having Internet issues all day (pages not loading on the first try), but just notifying.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

PSA: The map hosting is going away for good on 7/31.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww. We've been properly warned, Buffistas. Can we take over hosting the map, for she is lovely?

I've encountered an odd problem where the Phoenix board doesn't remember me and automatically log me in, no matter how many times I select "remember me" on the Set Profile form. I don't know of any precipitating change to my computer that would have disabled this function - haven't altered any of my cookie preferences lately or anything like that. Is there another setting somewhere that I should change?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does anyone want to volunteer to write tag-closing code?

I know we had some waiting to be tested, but it disappeared when my HD did, and so all that work of Rob's was wasted.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

Today is bye-bye day for the map hosting. Also, the tv tropes wiki will be down for a few weeks.

Profile addy good, but responses will be slow. I'll probably pop back up in the Fall.

Tootles.

Thanks, Gus. Is the zip you'd listed above the most ultra-plus-current, or should I grab it again?
