Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No ... it doesn't have a limit. There are longer quotes in there. I fixed it.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Damn! I was so sure.....

Maybe whoever gave the source to you was using software that had a field size limit? Maybe?

254 is very seductive, isn't it? I think that quote came from John. Want we should blame it on him?

Oh, yes, absolutely.

I don't really get the "read new" feature. From when I've tried it, I assume it's taking me to the most active thread of all those to which I've subscribed (um...almost all - I like keeping my options open).

I just go to whichever thread is catching my eye. Clicking on a thread takes me to the new posts anyhow. Am I missing something about "read new"? Why for all the subscribing and un?

No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

Read New saves you a click. Instead of seeing a message in Firefly, then clicking on the Firefly thread, you click Read New and it takes you to a message. It's more useful when things are slow in Natter or after you've caught up. I have Read New bookmarked so I can see what's new with a couple keystrokes.

I can't seem to control which thread with new posts that it takes me to, though. I think I'm missing something. I checked the faq type links for a refresher when we migrated, but don't remember seeing anything. I think the filk made me laugh so hard I forgot everything else. Did I miss it?

eta...

When I checked, this was all I found:

To check subscriptions in all your threads, you can use the "Message Center" option to check for new messages in your subscribed threads, or you can use the "Read New" link to check for new posts in all your threads.

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

Would it be possible, in the bright and shiny future, to have the option of choosing within which thread yis want to be searching? WX allowed you to do that once you were in that specific thread. I love the all threads/subbed thread thing but I'm subscribed to so many threads it's tricky.

No, you're not missing anything. Read New takes you to new messages, wherever they happen to be. Message Center is for when you want to decide which thread to read when.

I just got a quote in the corner that just said, "Buffy, Becoming (II)" without any actual quote there.

Really? Cause I was there today searching for something and searched the whole folder not each topic.

I love the search feature here, even if I can't ever search for instances of my name.
