Sorry, I already posted this in Natter:
The board is always slow when Natter or another popular thread turns over. There's a limit to how many posts the board can handle in a short period of time.
Once I was watching top (Unix command) during a thread turnover... the CPU activity was pegged at 100%. It seemed that MySQL was taking the majority of the CPU.
PHP just shows up as Apache processes, right?
Oddly when I went in just now the board did not remember me.
That seems to happen sometimes when people change their profiles.
I'm sorry if this question keeps popping up, but is there a target date for the filter feature to launch?
There has been an error. It's of the type we call fatal. Please don't be scared. You're not the one that's going to die.
Okay, where the $$&#&(@#& are the developers?
I clicked "post message" in Natter, got a regular "this page cannot be displayed" error, then refreshed and got the fatal error message.
ita, I reported it here, right after it happened, so it must have been just about 8:00pm board time, last night (the post I tried to submit never did go through. It was brilliant--Shakespearian, even. Or I could be lying about that last bit).
Who wants pie!?!?
No wait, that's not what I was going to ask. The PostgreSQL version of the board is ready for testing. I think.
So I am going to need some folks for testing. Um, if such folks exist. Including one or two folks who are or have been stompies to test the stompy functions.
If things seem OK (and when bugs have been fixed) I think we should get some people to hit the server hard (all at once) to see how it handles a load.
Put my stompy ass on your list tommyrot.
If the testing doesn't require any coding, I will volunteer.
