We tried a few years ago. I think it got mostly done, but it's probably somewhat out-of-date by now.

I just had a quick flash of adding latitude and longitude to the user profile, and auto-generating a map.

But I am crazy, and unwilling to do the work. Still, even if it didn't go as far as naming who's where, it'd be interesting to see densities.
