Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I love it.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Not if you're ready to work it again, no.

I can upload what I still have, and pop in to bitches to see what they want to do with it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

From what I can remember, there are three things that need be done before the filter can go live:

  • fix spurious threadsuck posts
  • change language displayed on blocked posts
  • decide where the filter documentation lives, and write it

#1 and #2 are on Rob's list (the terminology -- was it to be "this post has been rendered blinvisble" or "invisible"?)

Any takers for #3? DX has already requested it be done in filk.

hip deep in pie

I'll volunteer for to write a non-filk documentation. I wouldn't be so good with filk.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

change language displayed on blocked posts

The bullshit consensus compromise between the funny and simple seemed to be:

This post rendered blinvisible.

Note that the I'm changing the name tag for the FAQ entry to "filter" (before, it was "MARCIE").

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This post rendered blinvisible.

I like this.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Personally, I'm way more partial to:

This post has been filtered.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I didn't go through and tally all the opinions, but the vibe I got is that some folks feel as Kat does, and some would like something even more silly (like MARCIE), but that most fell somewhere in the middle.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Okay, I just experienced some numbering weirdness. After making this post:

DXMachina "Four and Twenty Natters: WHO ARE YOU BAKING FOR??!?!!?!" May 10, 2004 5:48:05 pm PDT

I clicked on message center, and was given this:

[link]

Clicking on Natter gave me this, with the post number greater than the total number of posts:

[link]

This lasted until someone else posted in Natter.

Trust my rage

DX - I've had this happen before. The last time was right when we broke in the new Natter thread.
