There are members of the board that will be more comfortable with the blocking option and I do understand this although once it is in place I hope to forget it exists. Of course I hope to never hear any members discussing it, and count me among those that don't want to know how much it is being used.

"Why is Mary blind, Pa?"
Oh, lord, no. Because putting numbers to it will only convince paranoid people that they're part of that percentage.
Speaking as one of the paranoid, a vehement third (or fourth, or whatever number I am).
I agree with Liese S. that it is understandable, just not pleasant to think about. So...I'm all for the ignorance is bliss approach here. Just my two cents.

And the world is a good and peaceful place.
And the bad guys always wear black hats . . . .
If user X decides to filter user Y, would user Y know? What if user Y asks user X a question, and then 20 posts later Y is all, "I ASKED YOU A QUESTION, X - WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?" OK, that's an extreme example....
Not that extreme: the forums my DH spends much of his time on have a user filter option, and that very thing has happened several times.
I'm sorry that we need it, I can see why some people find it necessary if they're going to keep their heart valves intact, and thank you to the good folk coding it. That's all, really.
My "remember me" and "show email address to registered users" settings both got mysteriously changed to "No" sometime after late last night. Anyone else notice anything weird?
This happened to me once, too.
When I updated my profile to subscribe to a new thread, "remember me" got mysteriously unchecked.
However, this morning, when I subscribed to the new natter, it remembered to remember "remember me".
