Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Does the name really matter? Does it appear in the screen? How does a filtered post appear?

Is there an example?

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

It only appears to the person filtering. Like this, except without the MARCIE terminology, plus links, and in teeny little font in place of the user's tag:

This post rendered blinvisible by MARCIE.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Allyson, this is a screenshot from the test, taken as a joke about how peaceful bureau could end up being.

What I'd like is to have "this post is inblisible" without the MARCIE reference -- it doesn't need to have a brand name on it at all. Whatever we decide, it needn't be big and intrusive, as you can see.

What is even happening?

I hate Bozo, and MARCIE. ENUF is okay, because I guess, it's not a name. I still like either just user filter, or blinvisible. I think blinvisible is more fun.

It's that Marcie ended up trying to kill people for being made invisible. That's my ish. Not having a nice name.

This post rendered blinvisible by MARCIE.

If I'm the only what that sees this, I'd rather have

"This post is invisible because you've decided not to read this wrongheaded crackpot with an ignorant opinion ever again."

Temporarily view this post.

Again, I'd rather have

"If you click here, you'll just find yourself more annoyed because the posts you were previously filtering will now be visible."

But too harsh and wordy. Just like me.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

There's also going to have to be a FAQ entry on it, and I just think it's going to be hurty-feelingy enough without a smartass name.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Allyson, this is a screenshot from the test, taken as a joke about how peaceful bureau could end up being.

HEY! I'm all about the peace.

And prefer that the formal name is "user filter." People can then feel free to call it whatever they want.

Why? Half the boards on this planet have a user filter. It's a feature of the software; stick it in the how-to.

Hmmm...I see your point, Dana. I hadn't thought about whether or not the FAQ entry would hurt people's feelings.

Sounds harsher to me, personally.

I kind of just like "User Filter", and then "blinvisible" gives it that touch of whimsy. (Not, alas, a touch of Wimsey.)

I agree with Dana.
