If every vampire who said he was at the crucifixion was actually there, it would have been like Woodstock.

Our wings are not tired.

I saw Dana over there, before I Blocked her.

Haven't seen any wonkiness. The only thing that bugs is the same thing that bugs me with bookmarks. Feeble minded as I am, I get confused when I pop back to the top of the page and have to figure out where I left off.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I get confused when I pop back to the top of the page and have to figure out where I left off.

That's always bugged me too. There's a fairly simple solution -- using name tags before every post -- but it would require new coding.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The way Rob originally coded it, it brought the blocked or unblocked post to be the first on the page.

I nagged him into consistency.

Oops.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

That's always bugged me too.

Me three (or four, or ... n). Is it on The List?

But then on the other hand, it seems like it's a board-wide thing rather than a filter-specific issue. As for the filter, I haven't run into a single problem testing it in terms of adding and removing people, displaying inblisible messages, figuring out how to work the thing. It's lovely.

Oops.

Not at all. Rob had the un/blocked post appear first on the page. That was wrong. I'm talking about using a name tag so that the un/blocked or bookmarked post appears at the top of your browser window, but still at the same spot in the page. In other words, the page appears just as you left it, with the same set of posts appearing as before (but bookmarked or blocked as requested).

Huh.

Putting anchor tags shouldn't be too hard -- making t a href='showthread.php?thread_id=32&post_id=7369' into t a href='showthread.php?thread_id=32&post_id=7369' name='7369'

Is that what you're suggesting? And then the link you're returned to from block or mark is [link]

Exactly. I know it's not hard, but I wasn't sure we wanted to be making more changes right away. Feel free to go for it!

weeps with love for those that jump right on my picky complaint

As far as the rest of the blocking, unblocking, etc, all is lovely. It also confirms my suspicion that I won't be able to use the function because I temporarily look at all the messages. I can't resist the taunting blocked folk.

I'll wait until Rob makes the changes to the blocking code, and then I'll tweak the marking code (or he can while he's in there).

I'm sure I could code it too, but I haven't actually looked at Rob's work yet and anyway it would probably be too many cooks for our non-CVS world.
