hee It seems I am without an original thought this evening.

I'm a cross-posting fool.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

We've had a slew of new registrations since the announcement.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'd have been here sooner, but I was dropping entities into the database.

That needs to be added to the code fix list (eta: converting user name characters into entities where applicable at registration).

Once I've recovered from my exhaustion, I should be available to program again.

I'm not surprised. I reposted the post on the site and I've had 13 comments in under 45 minutes. I think that's a site record.

Everyone wants to give love.

ETA: I saw some people direct linked to the post too.

I guess we should probably take Tim's letter down from the header.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hey Gus - what's up?

Did anyone email you to be added to the Midwest list (besides aurelia)? If so, could you email them to me? If they're not already subbed I'll add them.

There are eight members of the list so far....

Edit: Number 7000 is just sitting there....

Done, DX.

Okay. Here are the goals:

  • MARCIE -- implement according to previous specs, or revise specs if needed

  • Database -- resolve MySQL fake connection pileup. Preliminary options are: restructure MySQL queries or change database back end (PostgreSQL suggested). A change of back end might have other benefits. Rob -- can you share with tommyrot what you gathered back when we were on Hostrocket/Kristen's server? Tommyrot, I've finished setting up a SQL test environment for you. A replica of this MySQL implementation is up and running, with the code dated as of today. PostgresSQL is running, but absolutely nothing is set up for it yet. I'll e-mail you the details.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Got it, Tom.

It works.
