Frankly, that kind of speculation is way premature. Right now, it looks like there's a problem with one of Fangeek's servers. ita's test this evening will help verify that.
If it's a problem with one of their servers, then we get them to fix it, because they're not providing us with the level of service we're paying for. If they refuse to fix it, then we talk about leaving.
If it isn't a problem with their servers, then it's a problem with our code. We'll have to fix our code, regardless of whether or not they give us any assistance.
First off I want to shut the board down, and test connections on the command line, so our code isn't part of the issue.
Secondly, we start hunting for a host with higher limits.
Thirdly, which can be concurrent with secondly, the code gets reviewed again.
Tom, you do understand that Fangeek, meaning me, doesn't actually have access to the server?
Whoops, sorry. I meant our ISP when I said Fangeek.
Have I mentioned recently that you guys are all awfully cool? I'm still stuck in the mindset of over a year ago, which is "Holy crap, we have our own board. These people started with nothing and they made an entire board." I live in awe.
Whoops, sorry.
No problemo. I just wanted to make sure everyone realized that I don't actually have access to the server itself. It would be much easier if I did.
In this as in so many other things...
Begins plotting takeover of the universe by a brilliant, foamy snark of Buffistae.
So who wants to give the Buffistas a nice new Xserve and the a place to hook it up to some bandwidth?
Someone?
Anyone?
Pretty Please?
You're saying that we need either a patron, a lottery win, or a sugar daddy?
Hell, I could use one of those three...
What are the usage parameters we're looking for?
