I'm against them being on every page, because it eats serious real estate.
This seems a compelling argument to me, since the information is still available by going back to the first page.
I've had that lost post thing as well after leaving for a while and coming back. Hil's solution works for me.
Never made demo (see Natter). In terms of expiration, I suspect it tries to post before logging you in.
I suspect it tries to post before logging you in.
Nope. Must be something else.
Thread headers USED to display on every page, and there was a request to make that stop. So, like WX, that no longer happens. I'm against them being on every page, because it eats serious real estate.
Wrod with a side of wrod sauce. Please don't.
I've been using the test board to try and duplicate this timeout error, and so far can't.
Can I have more details? Browser version, length of delay between loading the page with the posting box and hitting the post message button? Is "remember me" set?
Mine was on IE, and I was away for about an hour and a half, with 'remember me' set.
My god. Testing will take weeks!
Maybe if you guys just talked more ...
Yes, I think the answer here is to not, under any circumstances, leave the board for more than fifteen minutes. There. Problem solved.
Man, I'm waiting up to 4 hours with IE, and still no error.
So pile on with the details of the situations that preceded it ... nothing is too trivial or mundane.
Test time.
I started a post. Left the system for an hour. Finished the post and...
There has been an error. It's of the type we call fatal. Please don't be scared. You're not the one that's going to die.
Okay, where the $$&#&(@#& are the developers?
I am on IE 6 on XP Pro. I do have remember me selected and it works. Network hub and DSL hub in the mix too. Anything else you need?
Also, note that after the error I hit back and posted this message with no problem. I think that finishing my thoughts within an hour or so before posting shouldn't be too much of a struggle. I almost always compose outside of browser anyway because I like to spell stuff right.
