Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I've gotten the error three times in the last fifteen minutes.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

One other difference I've noticed between this time and last time. Here are the error messages.

September 22, 2003, 3:09 am DXMachina[23]: ERROR [2] mysql_connect(): User bufforg_phoenix has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections line 77 of file /home/bufforg/public_html/classes/giles.php

Sometime in the last three weeks giles.php picked up an additional line of code. Do we know when that happened?

I don't. But I always suspect EthanRayne.php, first.

Just noticed the first skipped post number. Maybe we'd just been lucky so far.

Kristen "Natter 17 = 4² - cos(π): Nilly — Could This Be Mathier?" Oct 17, 2003 11:31:19 pm PDT

Post 1896 is missing.

The last time this happened, we closed the board for a day or two, and the error went away. Maybe we ought to close for the weekend, and see what happens.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

On the other hand, in the interests of a controlled experiment, maybe we ought to not close the board and see what happens?

Well, not closing the board doesn't seem to have cleared the errors yet. How long do we go?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

While the site was down because of the last errors. I added code to be able to shut the site down except for admins.

As for closing us down ... how about Sunday?

In post: sj "Buffistas Building a Better Board" Oct 17, 2003 2:22:59 pm PDT, sj also reported an instance of skipped post number. She said that 7428 is missing from Bitches.

For reference: Anne W. "Spike's Bitches 10: Haven't Had Quite Enough Jealous Vampire Crap" Oct 17, 2003 12:59:05 pm PDT

Last time did we determine (or possibly guess) that some post numbers were skipped, because when post X was initially submitted, it made it as far through the submission process as number assignment, but not all the way through to the point where it was published, or am I misremembering?

My (faulty) memory was telling me that the last time this happened, it took days before the board cleared up. In fact, it only took a day. So... nevermind.... t /Litella

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

If we shut the board down, where are the back-up meeting places?

I'm all for a healthy board. And serious thanks to the Stompies for working so hard on the weird problems we are having.
