Not really stoopid. On the maintain threads page, the thread title appears within a text box. the html for this parameter is
value="Natter 17 = 4² - cos(<font class="times">... etc.
As soon as the quote at the start of "times" was reached, the value parameter was closed and the rest of the text was ignored. Using single quotes solved the problem.
However, when I went in to fix the title the first time, there were no quotes around "times" at all. Not sure how that affected things; I just know it wasn't working.
Well, we need a way to control who can post in a thread. That's how we limit Nillytown to Nilly, etc. Any change to that mechanism would involve more than a bit of work.
I forgot about Nillytown. Still, we're loading over a thousand user names into the combo box every time we want to edit a title.
It's something that could be better, but given that it's normally only used once every couple of weeks, I don't think it should be given high priority.
Huh. FYI, my Opera browser has decided to ignore the Times class for the pi symbol. Now I'm just getting the staple. No big deal for me, but I think we're learning that fiddling with symbols in the thread header can be a little tricky.
Is that why we don't have the é in the Sang Sacré header?
Speaking of which-- shouldn't it be about time for Sang's annual Harvest Festival?
shouldn't it be about time for Sang's annual Harvest Festival?
Um... yeah. Yeah, it should. (Edward asks: is it a leather pants occasion, or more floral skirt? And will there be pumpkins?)
And will there be pumpkins?
Not so much. Too many people forgot what time it was and got stuck inside the pumpkins when they reverted from carriages to squash. It was a mess.
