I have a question. How hard would it be to force Beep Me to be the first thread read with Read New? As it is now, I hit Read New, go through Natter, and then get to Beep Me and the actual news.
No biggie, obviously. Just a thought.

Do you have problems, concerns or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.

I have a little tiny technical question: Is the thread width different in different threads? Because I notice sometimes the MARK thing wraps under my name, and sometimes it doesn't.
The thread width is variable depending upon the width of you browser window, but shouldn't vary from thread to thread.
edit: Yeah, what ita said.
Dana, it occurred to me that what I should do is just click Beep Me instead of Read New when I first get on.
(Of course, I haven't actually implemented this plan yet, but I did think of it.)
Well, yeah, but shouldn't the world order itself to my convenience?
What do you mean "no"?
Oh of course. I'm still bitter it can't intuit what I mean to type, instead of what my fingers actually type.
It would be nice to be able to assign Beep Me, and perhaps Press, priority over the other threads. WX sort of allowed you to do this, which is why Beep Me and Press were always at the top of the thread list.
Also, I think Beep Me, Press, and the other right-column threads might want to be listed together, with a subhead, on the List O'Threads on the profile page -- makes it easier for a person to find and subscribe to them in the first place!

The time of day on the server is almost 2 minutes off. Can someone talk to hostrocket about running NTP on the server?
Hey! Thanks for the nice selection, quote-miners. I like the not so obvious choices you've put up.
Can somebody edit the Etiquette page so that "FAQ" is a hotlink to the FAQ?
Ta ever so.
