I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

This sounds like 101 Dalmatians, only pornier.

If the next one to register has the user name Cruela de Vil, we'll know you're right.

Good lord! Sniff. I remember the days of pining to break 300....

At this rate, we'll take over the web in NO TIME!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Or the web will take over us....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You can't take the web from us.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Is there any way that threads marked "closed" could be removed from the subscription list on the Set Profile page? (If not, no biggie, but that list is getting awfully long!)

with a gleam in my eye, and an almost airtight alibi

On a similar note, I've been considering proposing making that list newest-first, rather than newest-last. I'd still like there to be some way for new users to be strongly encouraged to subscribe to the Bureaucracy thread, and the Press thread, but otherwise, newest-first seems easier to use. What do you all think?

Up with the sun

I like the idea of newest-first. or maybe it should be bureaucracy, Press, newest? FWIW, the newest-threads-at-the-bottom thing did momentarily confuse me when I cae back earlier this week.

Is there any way we could add a way for users to set their display font? The font we have now seems a little big for me.

The size of the font used in posts is the default size set by your browser. You can set the size in your browser's preferences or some such place. If you can't figure it out, post here with your browser version & platform.

Jon, I don't think that's what's up. My preferences (I use Internet Explorer) are set to TNR font and a medium text size. The default font on Buffistas seems to be a sans serif and about 14 pt., where my preference is 11 or 12. If I set the text size to "smaller," it does shrink, but then I have to un-set it when I go to any other web page.

I have seen other fora let you specify that you want the font smaller than the default. (Or, you know, larger. Whatever.)

No, don't! Personally, I'm often behind in a thread, but want to leave it on my message center to catch up (or, even if I'm not hugely behind, might've missed the roll-over and have a last 100 or so in the old thread and want to hit "read new"). And then when I'm done, I can go unsubscribe....

I mean, I suppose not everyone does it that way. So maybe I"m a minority. But.
