where would you put that in the set profile page?
Since it's unlikely to be a field that folks will fiddle with on a regular basis, I'd put it near the bottom, just above "Remember you."
Do you want me to mark something up?

Do you have problems, concerns or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.

I am lazy like that.
Noumenon, I will check the costs.
I am lazy like that.
Will do.
Oh, that tag-character-counting script I linked to earlier, Jon B "Buffistas Building a Better Board" Nov 8, 2002 5:08:22 pm EST ?
Doesn't work in Mozilla, so fuck it. It's pretty cool in IE though...
I wonder how much bandwidth one of my posts has to take up before I'm truly putting in my two cents' worth.

I'm sulking that you don't like mine.
I really think real-time counting is overkill anyway. It's annoying. 95% of people will never need to check their tags, so it should be something you use if and when, not something flickering away when you're trying to type.
I like yours John, but we need to have it count hard returns as two characters, not one.
I am lazy like that.
editprofile.php in test now includes something for number of posts displayed on a page. I go to sleep now...

It boggles me that people would Google this instead of simply typing it into the address bar. But people are strange.
Actually, I do that. I google it specifically to avoid typing it into the address bar at public computers. (eta: so it doesn't pop up as a suggestion in IE) Particularly at my institution.

Oh, interesting. But wouldn't having just gone there, even if you didn't type it in, make it pop up?
(But I see what you mean. When I was a little younger I sent my hotmail address a message just containing the url tabletalk.salon.com. So that when I clicked on it it stayed in MSN's obnoxious little frame; and no one would have to know I was on Salon.)
Can't you just erase it from the History, though?
