Got it, Jess. Thanks.
Buffistas Building a Better Board
Do you have problems, concerns or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.
No, it's really not. I'm surprised the bug didn't show itself earlier.
I'm not all that surprised, because it's probably very rare that a <td> tag would be used in a post unless the poster was doing a table in the first place. The only reason it showed up in Noumenon's post was because he quoted a snippet of code.
I'm not sure we really have to worry about this too much right now. I'd rather see us address the problem of making sure all the open tags are closed properly first.

I agree that the open tag issue should be addressed first, but this resulted in such a hideous error --- posts in the wrong order, pieces of posts in strange places ("Posts! Posts in new places!"), that I don't think we want to let it slide for too long.
It just occured to me that we should probably define NAFDA on the front page....
It's in the FAQ.
Yeah, OK.
From the FAQ
In order to keep them unspoiled, we limit discussion of current episodes to specific threads. These are the NAFDA threads. If it's not labeled as a NAFDA thread, don't talk about current episodes in it.
Are the NAFDA threads intended to be independant now? Or is, for instance, reference to current Buffy allowed in, say, the current Angel thread? This was raised in Firefly last week, but I didn't see a resolution.
Right, I mean, I know what it means, but a new person would have to read the FAQ. I guess we want them to read the FAQ anyway, so there you go.

Exactly right. If we start defining things all over the place, the pages would be a mess. That way lies madness.
Julie - I don't know the answer to your question, but you should raise it in Bureaucracy, not here. t /semi-stompy
ita -- I just emailed you (at the velvet address and dev@buffistas) some code which I think will truncate URLs to people's liking.
I also put in a TITLE attribute for the link so that hovering over it will give a little pop-up thing saying "long URL truncated" or whatever.
[EDIT: and there's no such address as dev@buffistas.org -- am I doing the Hallucination Boy thing again? Anyway.]
