I am curious, however, about how they're going to pull that off from a production standpoint.
Well, since the
Origins
won't deal with any of the regular cast, I wonder if they'll, I don't know, just shove it off on second-unit, you know? Kind of like how the comics are done by just a couple people on the writing staff. I imagine the regular writers and Kring might oversee the project but not be as hands-on.
I like the idea of seeing random new characters, because powers are fun, but the whole "voting" thing is bad. We don't need
American Hero.
(Or America's Got Powers.)

I'd be surprised if this were the case. If it was web or mobile content, absolutely. But this is original programming that's going to air in your timeslot on your network with your name on it. Presumably in the hope that you'll keep your viewers all season long. I would think not having good quality control would only dilute the brand and hurt the show.
Oh and I just realized Bryan Fuller must be leaving the show. (Since his show was ordered by ABC.) I wonder who they're going to get to replace him.
Yeah, I saw that
Pushing Daisies
got picked up (yay!) and thought the same thing. That's too bad for
Heroes.
Maybe they can pick up someone from VM if it gets canned, and then the show will have snappier dialogue. And more references to
The Big Lebowski.
I got a call from Nathan, too! I was just coming here to see if anyone else did.
On the extra-media stuff for the show, I feel so far that this bunch is handling it much better than the Lost crowd. Whole different animal working here. I don't mind the online reading. It takes up less space and dead trees than that paper stuff.
I'm also a little tipsy, so forgive if I make no sense.
I think it will be a full fledged reality show, but the winners are mostly not to be continuing characters. The show is going in a direction where there are going to be lots of extras and bit parts with special powers. They are building a world where there are thousands of people with powers, and organization dedicated to finding them, and ever growing means. (Don't know if Molly is such a means. You seem to have to know something about the person for her to find her. But maybe not. Maybe you just tell her, "the nearest person with special power thataway", and she locates him or her.
At any rate, with so many extras and bit parts, no reason not to use a reality show to fill them. And if one them catches audience fancy, and takes off, maybe they will write them in as a continuing character.
everybody's in NY! Even Sulu!
