To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

You know what, it'lll probably be a bit like the comic where, if you follow it, it'll give you something extra when you watch the regular show, but otherwise, it won't make much difference. They've done a good job playing with interactivity. And if it helps keeps viewers engaged and keep the show running, I'm cool with it.

The real question is, what cast members were at the upfronts? I've only seen a picture of one cast member so far. (And of course, that doesn't even completely guarantee they'll be back. But it's a hint.

Oh, and according to the AP, "Origins" will air during the hiatus, so they can get around the post-hiatus drop they suffered this year.

Trust my rage

I am exactly in Cindy's corner. What a PITA. Plus, I hate the idea of voting - there's a reason I don't like/watch American Idol. Hopefully, the voting/extra stuff will stay out of the way.

Compassionately intolerant

Ooooh boy. I'm getting pretty Lost over this new development. Which is so not a good thing.

Geez. When did this become such a doom-and-gloom crowd?

Well, it's always bugged me a bit that there were comics and part of the story was being told there. This bugs because it's more in the same direction.

But not gloom and doom. I totally love the show and can't wait to see more.

I get that, but I've got to admit, it really bothers me when you have a show that's innovative and willing to try new things, and has so far pulled them off with aplomb, and it gets greeted with so much negativity here.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

I don't want to be negative. But I was burned by Lost so badly last season. I was invested in all kinds of extra-show materials, and then NONE OF IT MATTERED. The bitter aftertaste, she lingers more than I thought.

I haven't been faithfully following the comics, and I don't feel that it detracts from the show for me. When I read it the first time I was thinking that it was going to be a complete separate show, which would sorta be a spin-off, but not really, and wouldn't impact the show at all. But if they're going to show some origins episodes in the hiatus, that's a big difference for me.

I should give them more credit, because Heroes has gotten everything right that Lost screwed up.

Because they are adding other formats to it some people don't enjoy, and they are a bit worried that it will spoil the part they do enjoy. Hey you mostly enjoy this thread, but you complain about posting trends you don't enjoy. Really I think the explanation for both the posts you are complaining about and your own posts is that most of us enjoy bitching.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

and has so far pulled them off with aplomb

I disagree -- I find the comics extremely irritating to navigate online, and since it wasn't obvious from the first few issues that they were going to contain integral parts of the onscreen storyline, I stopped reading them. And now I feel like there's a ton of backstory that I'm only getting at all because I read this thread. Having all that supplemental material out there doesn't add to the experience for me, it just makes being a fan feel like work.
