I think they paint the future as it stands, but if someone time travels, all bets are off.

I found this article interesting:
"Heroes", "Lost", and "Jericho" all lost viewers after lengthy hiatuses.
Are we days before the Presidential election, or the Senatorial election?
Senatorial. But that's the one before The Bomb.

Make sense to me. It is not neccesarily that people "grew cold". But if it was appointent vieweing and then the network cancels the appointment for months, people may forget when it starts again. Heck, if not for the Buffistas, I might have forgotten to watch Heroes.
Wait. Are we days before the Presidential election, or the Senatorial election

Neither, actually. He's running for the House.
Exactly. I figured that's why some shows start new episodes the week before the beginning of Sweeps to nudge people into watching again.

Yep. I almost forgot that Heroes and Supernatural were back the past couple of weeks. And I'm a big geek who's always online. If I were a more casual viewer, I know it would have slipped past me.
Of course, I think the whole TV season mode is a broken product of a bygone era, though, and needs to be revamped.
I'm such a friggin geek that I have set up RSS feeds to notify me when new episodes of my favorite tv shows are on. With so many series conflicting with each other (in terms of scheduling) I can't really rely on Tivo to tape what I want either.
Did anyone else think "slash!" when Nathan put his arm on Mohinder last night? When I realized it was actually Sylar, it made me laugh even harder because those two were sort of slashy to begin with. I was kind of wondering if it was supposed tobe a clue to Nathan's true identity although I certainly didn't get it at the time. I just noticed it and thought it odd.
I loved the episode, but a lot of it (DL's death, why certain Heroes were rounded up, the dead chick who i guess was Hana) didn't really click until later.
