Finally got caught up. (I still hadn't seen the last two episodes of season 3 until last weekend and then watched this season so far this week.)
Apparently I'm the opposite over every one here.
Not interested in the carnies at all.
I really enjoyed "Acceptance" and thought it had the best dialogue we've gotten from Heroes in a long while.
I still like Hiro, though I'm not thrilled about his current storyline.
While I agree Gretchen is a little on the creepy side, she amuses the hell out of me.
And I'm loving the Parkman and Sylar show. Sylar as the devil on Parkman's shoulder is far more interesting than Sylar the supervillain.
So far I'm enjoying this season a lot more than season 2 or 3.
As for Nathan in Sylar (though it may be a moot point now) trying to find out what happened in the death of his old girlfriend and then confessing to her mother, and that being out of character for both Nathan and Sylar: I think this "Nathan" was more Nathan as Parkman saw him, than the true Nathan.
Parkman didn't have access to all, or even necessarily most, of Nathan's memories. He mentioned to Mrs. Petrelli there would be holes, and she countered that there were enough objects for him to read to fill in the gaps. Between the missing pieces and Parkman's own perceptions, I think the result was a kindler, gentler Nathan. More emphasis on the hero, the statesman, and the father coupled with no memories of the more questionable or ruthless things he had done. It (seemed) to be more of Parkman creating Nathan in Sylar's head than a direct brain transplant. (If Nathan had still been alive at that point to pull from, I wouldn't be surprised if Parkman could do some sort of transplant. Or at least create something much closer to the original.)
As for why Mama P. gave "Nathan" the baseball hat in the first place, I doubt her first association with it was his girlfriend's death. It looked like a box of stuff from when Nathan was younger. "Nathan" was struggling with who we was and it made sense to give him a bunch of stuff likely to trigger happier memories (like the plane did, and that trophy sticking out of the box likely would have.)

My big hope is that Sylar is a big butterfly that Hiro changes the path of and seasons 2 and three never happened.
Does Claire and Noah's relationship seem off for the time period to anyone else?
you mean the fact that she's having the same conversation with him about his life and career as she's been having with him in the present? That the spray tan is still there?
But yeah, I can't recall, but I think she was really involved with herself and her new powers and feelings of freakishness, and possibly mad at her dad at that point. Or maybe it was just really wanting to share her secret with him and being strained around him.
So THAT'S where Mo's been all these weeks. Let's hoping he comes back a roarin' and ends up in the Mylar (really - it was TOO easy) end of things.
Oh, and Elizabeth Rohm really impressed me tonight, which means she really, REALLY must have hated her L&O gig, because while she was OK in my book on Angel (sometimes better; sometimes worse), the few times I saw her on L&O made me think that Bailey Chase had done a brain switch with her.
I just read an interview where she all but likened her time on L&O to playing a zombie. Or maybe a character in Equilibrium.
