I don't understand what this means. Peter doesn't take anything from anyone. He gets their powers if they're near them, but the other party doesn't lose anything.

My impression has always been that the Haitian has a mind-blocking power. There's no absorbing going on.
What did people make of Syler's painting? I took it to mean that the timeline had changed and the other guy was going to beat Nathan in the election.
