And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Not so crazy during season 1. Since then, however...

Someone on another board posited that Bryan Fuller was the reason season one was great, and the mediocrity of the subsequent seasons is actually the base state for this show.

That wouldn't surprise me at all.

It's odd to think of the influence of one person on the writing staff who's not even the showrunner, but note that Lost began improving when Brian K. Vaughan joined.

Between Sylar, Pre-patri-choked!Pete and Papa, I have no idea who's absorbed which powers anymore, or why they don't use 'em at any given time. Like considering how long PPC!Pete had Matt's mind-reading powers, it's weird that he was always getting bamboozled. Stupidest mind-reader ever.

Also, why didn't Papa P absorb Matt's dad's powers before killing him? You'd think those could have come in handy.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

He theoretically has equivalent telepathic powers from Peter, if he got the full suite.

Tim wasn't the showrunner for the first two seasons of Angel. IJS.

Good point, and just proves that I can't keep track of the Petrelli threesome's somewhat incestuous power swappage.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

Even though it made me want to throw something at the TV when she was holding onto metal plane parts and shorting out, I still really, really, really loved seeing Kristen Bell again. I have such a huge girl crush.

Is Maya gone? Like, really really? Because that would make all the other stupid worth it.

What this show needs is more Bennet. (though if they mess up his character too, I am totally finished. *shaking wee fist*)

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

if Angela dreamed that Sylar would blow up the world, then why didn't Papa Petrelli just take his powers away?

Speaking of Mama Petrelli dreams ... two of the villains from her original dream this season are dead: Maury and Adam. Huh.

But if they have a lab working on how to give people powers, are you telling me that they didn't have a partial formula for reducing/removing powers? That doesn't make any kind of sense.

I'll have you know I studied Mad Science at Harvard!

Did you study under Wacky Walter from Fringe?

Oh Walter. The dotty and petulant father side is kind of endearing. I like the way the Joshua Jackson character interacts with him (having never seen JJ or 90210 before, he's a pleasant surprise as an actor) but the grotty lab in the basement irritates me, as well as half their procedures. Yes! let's take irradiated people who have to be removed from a building in hazmat suits, then put them on a slab in the basement and examine them without safety glasses! It's annoying, although I get over being annoyed as they zip along with the rest of their improbable story lines. The cow has got to go at some point. For starters, it's bad for a cow to be standing around on concrete all day. Well, I assume that because it's true for horses. And as someone who mucked out a horse stall for many years of her life, and lived not far from a dairy farm, that cow makes more of a mess and requires more care than a few shanks of hay every now and then. They could use that as a reason to move the cow away: it has to go to a dirt-floor over gravel (for drainage) shed and corral. It has to get some exercise!

I'm enjoying the main character quite a bit. The actress has a really interesting face. Anna Torv. [link] I tried to analyze what makes her face watch-worthy, and I think a big part of it is that her faces *moves.* It's rather horrifying to realize that I've gotten so used to botox'd actors, or young actors who work really hard on not creating wrinkles, that a face with actual mobility is fascinating. She furrows her brow for starters. Go furrowed brow! (Sarah Shahi from Life shares the ability to wrinkle her brow.) Also, those creases that run from the nose to around the mouth? whatever they're called? hers are not symmetrical. The one on her left/stage right is a bit higher than the other one. Also, she reminds me of Liv Ullmann, and who doesn't love Liv Ullmann? [link]

The Haitian... I'm not sure I'll ever be able to give him a name besides The Haitian! I'll have to work on that. I'm startled every time I see him. He's turning out to be quite the badass boss.
