Some of us think that the dark secret in the Petrelli family is that Papa Petrelli isn't really dead.
While I don't discount that, I think him turning out to be Adam goes past "Holy shit!" into "You gotta be fucking kidding me!" territory (aka JJ-land). Papa didn't "die" that long ago IIRC, and I think Nathan and Peter would have noticed their dad not getting any older.
Also the comics have strongly indicated that Papa P did not have any powers.

I don't think he did either. I suspect it is going to be related to the death of Hiro's dad.
As in, he was also murdered by Adam Monroe?
You know, Adam Monroe could have killed Kaito Nakamura before Hiro was born - thus completely preventing the whole thing. But I guess he wanted Hiro to be born so that he could be the angry revenge guy and deal with Hiro personally.

Of course, if he were a thousand year old immortal he might make some effort to hide that.
It would be fun if Adam were Grampa, but I don't think he is.
I'd like to know more about Suresh Sr. Did he end up dead because he, too, was dumb as a box of hair?

I thought it was more likely that Adam might be Angela Petrelli's father or grandfather.
