What surprised me when Claire was going to shoot Peter was that she was going to shoot him while he faced her. I thought that she would shoot him in that spot at the back of the head that caused her to die.
But then, maybe she "kills" Peter - he regenerates and is no longer explosive.
substitute actor was revealed to not actually be Wayne Brady
Wayne Brady? I missed those episodes of Days. (The guy who wanted to come back as Roman Brady was named Wayne something, right?)
Is Roman Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?

Har. Wayne Northrup. I mixed up the two. I meant Roman.
When I saw Peter explode way up in the atmosphere, I thought "Oh Great, now everyone's going to die slowly of cancer."
And on further reflection, I think even though they wouldn't do it, and even though it would be a hit to the minority and gender ratios, I'd be OK if this was the last we saw of the Sanders/Hawkins clan.
Noooo! Okay, I'm still a little bored with Niki/Jessica, but I *love* D.L. and Micah and would hate to see them go.
The "shot in the head" solution seemed iffy to me even back when Peter first gave Claire the gun. Not a guarentee in stopping the bomb. I think Nathan was saving his daughter from having to do something horrible.
I like this idea -- and it works nicely with Claire's earlier plea to Nathan and Mama Petrelli to stop Peter from becoming a mass-murderer for his own sake.
I also have a theory that Peter needed to vent all that power. That if he got shot, he'd have to stay dead, that they couldn't (shouldn't) risk removing the bullet that would allow him to heal, because then the overload would start all over again.
This was my take on it as well.
Something I saw mentioned in LJ-land -- Sylar seemed to appear out of thin air, essentially, at Kirby Plaza, and there was that unexplained fresh blood smear on the floor of Isaac's studio when Sylar was last seen there. Is it possible that he killed Claude off-screen and can now turn invisible?

I refuse to believe that because I want Claude back on my tv!
I deny that theory, because CLAUDE must be alive. Sylar's always had the ability to sort of pop up or escape. Back when Matt and Audrey were chasing him, for example.
I kind of want to watch the whole season over again.
Sylar's powers were pretty off in the season finale. That's what kind of made it so-so for me.
First, I do believe it should have been 2 hours. Second, are you telling me that someone as skilled as he has been - couldn't have been able to keep his eye on Hiro AND Ando at the same time? That was really weak writing.
I have to agree with comments I've read elsewhere: the fight at the Plaza really needed to have a lot more intensity. I think this ep was suffering from the BSG disease whereby they spent all their $$ on "Five Years Later" and did what they could to wrap up the season.
