Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

yeah, he was freaking out. I agree that someone should have shot him to stop him. that would have saved them both.

And I totally agree that someone in that crowd of survivors should have had the sense to make sure that Sylar was really, most sincerely dead.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

When Peter and Claude were ambushed by Bennet and the Haitian, didn't Peter fly while invisible?

Good call, DX and Matt. I sure as heck didn't remember that.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I wonder if the Haitian might be the "boogeyman" Molly is talking about. He's seemed aware of other people's psychic powers and able to block them, and his early description of his own power's nature was grotesque enough to maybe bethe source of Molly's fear.

Matt, I had that same thought. I was also wondering why he hasn't shown himself in the last few episodes (and even then, he was missing for a few before the 5 Years Later ep which doesn't really count as him, at least in terms of the current scenario). He certainly has a spooky vibe, but I never got a "way worse than Sylar malevolence" off of him.

We have a couple of Heroes unaccounted for: Claude, the Haitian, anybody else?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

or maybe he has powers that are much worse, but they only know of his dampening powers.

Yeah, I assumed immediately that the Hatian was the one who scared Molly...

And I don't see why Peter couldn't survive...though Nathan seems a goner, really...

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Besides, if she'd shot Peter in a non-fatal (for him) place, it might have put him out long enough for him to calm down. Then maybe with enough time he could have learned to control it.

I don't think this will work because remember in Company Man when Ted went nuclear in the Bennet's house? it was a non-fatal gunshot wound that set him off. i think a non-fatal gunshot wound would have made it worse for Peter too.

How come Peter could pick up Niki's power five seconds after he met her, but he couldn't fly himself away?

i'm fanwanking this as he was too consumed by Ted's powers to use any of his others at that moment.

I'm trying to remember if we've ever seen Peter use more than one power at a time. Could he if he even wanted to?

this is also a good point. i don't think we have seen him use more than one power at a time.

this was a great episode. i want next season to start right now! also? Peter's definitely still alive? Nathan? not so much. Sylar? still fucking hot, but should be oh so dead. what the hell people?! make sure the villain is dead before you traipse off!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Okay, so that was pretty kickass, though I could have done with about 65% less portentous VO & dialogue. I think the season ended as it began, actually, with some pacing issues and some leaden writing, but with enough character love and cool moments to carry it off. Still, there weren't as many "fuck yeah!" moments as I was expecting -- a few of the mid-season episodes worked much better in that regard. Though I did LOVE Claire jumping out the window.

Wait. Why was it better for both men to die instead of Claire killing just one? I mean, yay Nathan being heroic, but how is this better?

I think Peter is meant to survive the explosion -- so it was Nathan sacrificing himself so that Peter could live. If Claire had shot him, I think we're meant to believe he would have been no-coming-back dead, whereas now he'll be able to regenerate.

I'm doubtful that Peter could actually survive that explosion, at least on the strength of Claire's recuperative abilities alone.

But didn't we learn in "5 Years Gone" that Peter survived the explosion? I thought it was stated pretty explicitly. I don't know how -- some combo of Claire's abilities and Ted's natural immunity that must have transferred to Peter as well -- but I didn't even question that Peter would survive until I came here.

And what did all that stuff Charles was saying about Peter's ability to love unconditionally have to do with anything at all? Looks like it was Nathan who loved unconditionally.

I kind of like the thought that both Charles and Mama Petrelli were wrong, but not in the way that either of them expected.

here's hoping he runs into Molly's worse-than-Sylar in the first few episodes of season 2 and gets a rude surprise.

Ha, that would be excellent. I was a little disappointed that he survived.

Really, the body count wasn't as high as I was expecting. Even Matt's not dead for sure.

Yeah, I agree. As much as I'm glad that D.L. and Ando and Mr. Bennet (Noah!) and even Matt are still alive, I was sure that one of them was gonna bite it. Or Sylar, at least! So the only person who died for sure is Nathan, right?

I approve if Sylar is still alive, because it means he can occasionally drunk-dial Mohinder.

Hahahahaha, okay, I'm looking forward to that!

When Peter and Claude were ambushed by Bennet and the Haitian, didn't Peter fly while invisible?

Did he, though? I thought he turned invisible long enough to toss Claude off the roof and jump after him, but then when he flew he was visible again. Am I misremembering?

Also, is Niki all integrated with Jessica now? I feel like I'm missing some chunks of that storyline. Was there much more about Niki in the comics?

But didn't we learn in "5 Years Gone" that Peter survived the explosion?

He did, but he probably didn't explode in the stratosphere during explosion Take 1. Now he's gotta deal with regenerating after the bomb AND falling from how many thousands of feet up in the air.

So the only person who died for sure is Nathan, right?

Maybe I've seen one too many soap operas, but unless I see it on the screen, I ain't believin' it.

I thought he turned invisible long enough to toss Claude off the roof and jump after him, but then when he flew he was visible again. Am I misremembering?

You're right. Noah Bennett (hee! I just wanna say it) and the Haitian watched him fly off with Claude.
