Mr. Jane owns a bar?
Cool.
So ... what do I have to do to take a bowl of cake batter and turn it into cupcakes?
Pour it into muffin tins that have been lined with cupcake papers or sprayed with nonstick spray (I prefer the papers) and cook for less time than you would the cake.
Same temperature?
And is there any way to tell how many muffin tins I would need? The cake fits in a 10"-diameter bundt pan.
Same temperature, or maybe 25-50 degrees lower. It's MUCH faster, though. A box of cake mix is supposed to make about 18 cupcakes, and probably fills one Bundt pan. Start small and you can spoon more in to make 'em bigger if you run out of tins.
Consuela, I think I'd look through cookbooks to see if there's one somewhat similar to your cake recipe to figure out the yield and bake times for the cupcakes.
Here's a cupcake recipe site: [link] You might be able to find one similar, there. Generally you're going to cook them for much less time (15ish minutes, and I'd check at 10). Same temperature. I'm pretty sure if you were baking from a box, you'd get 1 bundt pan cake, or 1 13x9" pan, or two 8" round layers, or a dozen cupcakes.

Bear in Mind that It Took Me Two Minutes to Figure Out Why You Weren't Reading the Back of the Box
Damn, I only have one muffin tin. Ah, well, I'll figure something out.
Thanks, y'all! I love the Buffistas!
Aw, geez. Nutty, too!
Nutty, I'm so sorry.
Crap, Nutty! Good luck to you as well. You guys can be job search buddies!
Consuela, the last time I made muffins, I realized I only have a six-muffin tin, but re-using it worked just fine. Took longer, but worked fine.
Cindy, I couldn't tell you the last time I made cake from a box. Five years? Possibly ten.
Aw, man, Nutty. Hope your severance, etc., is good, anyway.
And ice that finger.
