Not only can they jack you up for being late with their payments, but it used to be that cc companies could jack your rate if you were late with any payment.
It still is that way. That's one of the things that Harvard lady was talking about.

Border collies are awesome: [link]
I thought cc companies could raise (or lower) rates whenever they wanted no matter what -- they don't need any excuses.
Well, they say for any reason, but they don't usually tell you unless you ask, then they will. But, yeah, the reason can simply be, "Because we want more money."
Aww, Izzy's cute, but scroll all the way down to Lilly [link] I want to take her home.
There's a provision in the credit card contract that they can change your rates if your credit situation changes, which would include even one late payment on another creditor. That is what I recall from that kickin' Frontline episode.
You know what, though? I don't know about anyone else's credit report, but mine never lists my late payments, which I'm sure I've made. I think your credit report gets into that stuff when it starts getting serious. Thank goodness we had this conversation, though, because I just got one of my free reports and checked that my consolidated student loans are, as suspected, a 20-year term, and finall got motivated to increase my payments.
Gmail is "temporarily unavailable" to me now, AmyLiz, though it was fine when you posted.
I'm tempted if I can hire my border collie mix out to a golf course, I hear they are plagued with geese. I don't know if he has the stare, though. He tries to, but I'm not sure it's really there.
I think credit reports only include 30 days + late payments.
Jesse, I meant to post: check your train situation before you leave, I heard it was suspended or something earlier.
