Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That Matilda is almost too perfect in her cuteness. [link] is my favorite.

Compassionately intolerant

As soon as I took it out she jumped up raring to go again. But jeez, why didn't you yelp or something? Don't scare me like that!

Oh, poor poochen! Bartleby once had a broken tooth, pulp exposed...for probably 6 months or so. I kept brushing it, not realizing it was broken...he never made a sound. Bud! That stoicism isn't really helpful. Then again, I'm grateful he isn't the free-floating-whiney type.

Once again, Matilda proves that cute-sweet knows no bounds. And that pic of Em-Mat, breaks me all over again. I feel so privileged to watch that relationship grow from afar.

I'm trying to convince myself I don't need this.

No, get one! Then I'll have someone I know to maybe do some of the challenges with.

I need all the external motivation I can get.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Laura, I hope things turn out OK for your MiL.

Hot Namesake Bartender that sent me a Christmas card last year was tending for my first post-diet meal out today. He's grown his buzz cut out to a shaggy mane and growna trim beard, oddly increasing his resemblance to (clean-shaven) James Marsden and prompting me to upgrade him to Smoking Hot Namesake Bartender.

Everyone tips $5 or more for lunch, right?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And it is Saturday. I have had acupuncture for the elbow I jacked up dramatically yesterday (amused me that they mistook muscles for injury-swelling "Wait, ita--show me your left arm. Oh, never mind." But it hurts.

Father and sister dropped off at the mall, additional bandaging (knee and elbow braces, etc) and exercise drinks purchased, and after a quick nap I'll be off to our last training session, from 1:30 to 7:30 today.

And then will come Sunday and the real deal.

Excuse me while I go make wallpaper for this PC that says "Stop shutting down my applications!" Every time I come back to it, someone's closed down something I'm used to being eternally open.

Sharing my space is hard enough. Keep your hands off my CPU.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Aaaaaaaaaaargh. The plan was to put up the built-in bookshelves today. We went super-simple with these -- wall standards & brackets, simple wood shelves.

The problem is I can't find any freaking wall studs to hang them on! Everywhere the stud finder says there should be a stud, I can't find one when I drill in. So I'm just ending up making tiny holes along my baseboard for no reason. (Very tiny, and they'll be behind the couch, but still. I want my shelves!)

Anyone want to come build my bookshelves for me? I'll make cookies...

Good luck tomorrow, ita!

I've done nothing of use so far today. Need to remedy that....

Thanks, sara.

Oh, boy. I just leant on my elbow by mistake, screamed, fell onto the bed, whimpered, and felt my teeny migraine get a skosh bigger.

From some perspectives I'm fucked for tomorrow. It remains to be seen which perspective I choose.

Off to the mines.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

ita, if you don't pass tomorrow, can you retake?

Quite probably.

Don't wanna.
