Don't worry, I'm not gonna start any sword fights. I'm over that phase.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Happy birthday to the ever-enshrinkening Kathy!

Our wings are not tired.

Happy Birthday and Congratulations, Kathy!

My co-workers need to learn to give me a few minutes first thing in the morning before slamming me with multiple tasks & requests for stuff. I sent the wrong document out to my supervisor just now, looking like a loon in the process.

Matt, so totally true. And it's one of the things I hate most about the getting laid off/find a new job process (my sitch). My colleagues and I were talking about this yesterday; it takes a long time to develop excellent working relationships with people--getting to know their quirks and strengths and the right times and ways to approach them, etc. Hope you're able to de-loon yourself easily.

I'm 37 and this is what it looks like. People are so dumb. Everyone looks like themselves no matter what age they are. I may just be slightly bitter that I am finally at the age when people act shocked when you say it out loud. I hate that reaction and its implied "wow, you're getting old...."

Coding and Sleeping

Is the java in your name referring to a hot beverage or platform independent code?

I love pulling out photos of my mom and casually saying, "Oh, she'll be 68 this year," and seeing the shocked looks on people's faces. She looks more she's in her early 50s. I'll have to scan in her newest posed picture that she just sent me and post it here--she looks gorgeous! The only thing she does to touch up her appearance is to dye her hair, which she's been doing since her early 40s, and she swears that if the color ever went anything other than a mousy brown she'd let it go, but since redheads rarely grey gracefully, she keeps it red.

I'm debating coloring my hair--it's been going grey for years, but now I've gone very white at the temples, as well.
