Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

To make up for the irritatingness of school of late (well, for me, at least), today, we are watching The Princess Bride in class. We read the book, so we're doing the comparison thing.

The kids are loving it, both those who have and have not seen it before (How have people not seen it before?)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I am currently using some remote desktop software to control a client's computer in Washington, DC. It's the weirdest feeling - knowing he could be watching everything I do, or not at all, or someplace between those two....

Anyway, not much time to slack at the moment....

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

That's incredible to hear from the East coast, shrift.

It's been a while since I've taken Amtrak anywhere -- last time I think was to Toronto when I was still in college. What they have listed on their website may not match up with reality, but if I take the train, I will report back!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Paging Dr. Schadenfreude....

That calls for Schadenfreude Pie.

Because books.

That's incredible to hear from the East coast, shrift.

Exactly. The train from Syracuse to Penn Station takes five hours or something crazy, and you could drive it in three on a good day. And it's over $100, too.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

That's incredible to hear from the East coast, shrift. Up and down the northeast corridor, Amtrak is slower than driving and as expensive as flying, for the most part.

Grr. Don't get me started. It's enough to drive one into the arms of Fung Wah! (Although I gather Greyhound has come just as cheap.)

Last time I took Amtrak (granted, six years ago now), the fast train was more expensive than flying and about the same speed, and the slow train was still $100+ round-trip, and took six hours either way.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The kids are loving it, both those who have and have not seen it before (How have people not seen it before?)

I'm pretty sure I've never actually seen the whole thing of Princess Bride.

Inconceivable!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Jesse, say it ain't so.

Back to FNL for a sec - Lyla flipping her shit like that didn't actually seem OTT for me. Maybe I have problems with impulsiveness, but her demolition derby was something I could have seen myself doing given her circumstances.

The boys damn near killed me with how awesome they were all together. Riggins getting along with Street AND Smash! Saracen being the junior member and learning from Street, and yet having to lead the entire team next week. And Smash? Call your girlfriend. Tell her you're still processing. Something.

As always, Buddy Garrity can burn in hell.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm pretty sure I've never actually seen the whole thing of Princess Bride.

Would you like us to recite it for you?
