'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I probably haven't had ice cream, split or not, since about 1993. Unfortunately I know all too well what the immediate and unpleasant results would be, and that they'd continue for quite a while. So a few moments of delicious fun don't quite equal the cost.

::still sighs just the same::

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I tried a vegan ice cream at the restaurant Candle 79 in NY that was incredible. I think they make it with coconut milk.

Oooh -- I should definitely try that. Unfortunately, most vegan recipes and products I run into don't seem to like the White Sugar Devil much or depend on soy milk, which I find adds a huge bitterness. It's hell to be a supertaster with my particular food intolerance problems!

The dessert I tried it on was a Mexican chocolate cake -- one of those warm chocolate cakes with the gooey center with cinnamon ice cream and ancho chocolate sauce. Incredibly good. (And, sadly, it doesn't seem to be on their menu anymore.)

This place is, hands down, my absolute favorite vegetarian restaurant. It's incredible. [link]

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Oh, great, now I want ice cream and I just had breakfast.

I took today off, if you hadn't guessed, in part because I have a 9:45 dentist appointment. I also have to go to KosherMart for Passover stuff and to the library to do a book exchange.

KosherMart! I'd just about forgotten that it's the "beg friends with cars for a ride to Maryland" time of the year. Hmm. I think I can probably convince one of my officemates.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Remember the video game Left Behind: Eternal Forces ? It's the game where the object is to either convert people to Christianity or kill them. The company that produced it is not doing so well....

When Left Behind Games launched its convert-or-die videogame Left Behind: Eternal Forces on November 7, 2006, its stock traded at a peak price of $7.44 per share. Breathless boosters at RedChip issued a "strong buy" recommendation and predicted that within 18 months, the stock would soar to as much as $18.70 per share. Really?

In fact, Left Behind Games' stock chart looks like a ski slope. Not a gentle bunny hill, but a World Cup grand slalom course, groomed for a world-beating downhill run. Today, you could buy a share of Left Behind Games for a quarter -- with change left over. On March 21, 2007, the stock closed at 18 cents a share.
Left Behind Games has sunk more than $27 million and four years into the development and marketing of a game that has been critically panned by gamer blogs, who sneer at its bugginess and built-in spyware, and was boycotted by members of its target audience.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am super excited for the next couple of days at work. Each should be relatively quiet, with hardly any meetings or deadlines. God willing. I might even be able to do some filing! Yay filing. Or not. I'm just glad to have a chance to catch my breath.

I should have called in zombified this morning. Why did I stay up so late? There was no reason!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Ahhh, bless you, tommy. I know it's incredibly trivial and petty, but it's still very cheering.
