Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Yes. I guess she's on a book tour now for it.

In her new book she demonstrates how Joss Whedon and other writers of the show have drawn on specific concepts in quantum mechanics, relativity, and string theory to develop innovative plots for episodes. There are teleporting demons, temporal folds, time loops, and dimensional portals similar in concept to the hypothetical wormholes proposed by real-world physicists. In short, the Buffyverse offers a unique lens through which to view the precepts of science with fresh eyes. Science nerds and Buffy fans, unite!

I dunno - the science-y parts of Buffy and Angel were not really why I watched the show....

So it looks like pouring rain will be almost perfectly timed with my departure.

And the umbrella's at home on the couch.

Chicago tonight, doing a reading at Women and Children First (a feminist bookstore)

Is that on the 5000 area of Clark? 'Cause I swear I walked past it last night on the way to dinner.

Yes. I walk through Andersonville fairly often so I see it all the time too.

5233 N Clark St., actually.

I think it's north of Wrigley but south of Andersonville. . . ish (or is it in Andersonville. . .hmmm. . . I haven't been in Chicago in forever.)

That sounds about right, shrift--it's in Andersonville on Clark, I think right down the street from the Swedish Bakery, one of my favorite places in town (my boss always gets me limpa bread and/or butter cookies from there for my birthday, which is coming up next week--can't wait!).

ETA: Andersonville X-post!

Yeah, it's Andersonville, North of Uptown (where I live).

There's a Blockbuster about three blocks from me - they have a DVD section called "Community Favorites" that's all GLBT stuff. At first I was confused, but I guess they consider themselves close enough to Andersonville to be part of it.

Mmmm, Reza's. Love their dill rice and hummus--actually, their whole lunch buffet is wonderful!
