My cats are both trying to convince me to take a nap. They've had outdoors time and have been fed, and now they're stretched out on my bed. It's after 7! If I fall asleep now, I'll never sleep through the night! Evil feline tempty-pants.

more powerful than a dozen vegans!
Hey, digesting all that celery and kale takes a lot of energy!
It would hurt like whoa for a little while (that will seem a lot longer), but it would clean out the cut nicely. And might stop the bleeding, though I hope that's already happened by now.
Awesome! I am applying medicinal whiskey directly to the mouth!
Obama was in my building today! Not that I saw him - see above re meetings - but I did hear the guards talking about it while I was racing from my office to a conference room at the hotel next door.
Shrift! Wanna meet up for a drink after work on Thurs or Friday?

So that spacecraft that's heading towards Pluto passed Jupiter on Feb 28th. Here is a picture it took: [link]
This dramatic image of Io was taken by the Long Range Reconnaissance Imager (LORRI) on New Horizons at 11:04 Universal Time on February 28, 2007, just about 5 hours after the spacecraft's closest approach to Jupiter. The distance to Io was 2.5 million kilometers (1.5 million miles) and the image is centered at 85 degrees west longitude. At this distance, one LORRI pixel subtends 12 kilometers (7.4 miles) on Io.
This processed image provides the best view yet of the enormous 290-kilometer (180-mile) high plume from the volcano Tvashtar, in the 11 o'clock direction near Io's north pole.
Cool - it look like a fountain. A 180 mile high fountain.

I might be going to a play on Friday, but Thursday is good.
I'ma need a drink in the worst way by Thursday, so that works.

So, my new clogs that I ordered from zappos.com on Friday arrived today, yay! They're very comfortable; I think they're going to work out just fine. I also had dinner with a friend tonight, and I was discussing my new shoes... guess who lives less than an hour away from a Dansko outlet where I can get them for about half price? Apparently, I do. If only I'd known to consult with S first. Ah, well. We've made plans to go up there anyway. More shoes for me!
(I know I could return these since I haven't worn them outside yet, but I'm going to keep them. It'll be a month before I get up there, and I've been dying to try these out, so...)
