Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Thanks!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I somehow suspect alcohol won't mix well with my fat lip.

It would hurt like whoa for a little while (that will seem a lot longer), but it would clean out the cut nicely. And might stop the bleeding, though I hope that's already happened by now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh god, you guys, earlier today I had a truly ridiculous experience. I'm reading Running With Scissors, about 3/4 through, and a scene sounds familiar. I'm thinking maybe I read his other book, and the same thing comes up, so I go look on my shelf, and not only have I read Running With Scissors before, I OWN IT. I was never great at comprehension and retention, but that's ridiculous.

I did that with All Tomorrows Parties. Didn't figure it out until I had read the second copy all the way through, though.

Hey, you drink enough and you won't care!

My dad sent me a tape of a program on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey done by the local PBS station. The telescope is on the site where dad is director. Anyway, it was geekilicious. The SDSS is really incredible. (Um, anyone want a bunch of 3 ft diameter plates with holes drilled in them? I keep telling dad he should contract with a local artist to make coffee tables for modernist geeks and then auction them off on ebay to raise additional funds. So far, he hasn't taken me seriously.) I basically grew up with these projects. It's funny to see people you've known since you were at least 7 on the teevee.

Oy. I mean, it's not the typical kind of thing, you know? And what stuck with me was the diner waitress? Fucked in the head, is what.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I bit the inside of my lip. In the same place I'd bitten it three times in the last 24 hours. This time it bled.

That happens to me all the time--when I bite it the first time it swells up, so biting it a second, third and fourth time becomes almost inevitable.

In my treadmill workout today, I was a bit tired so I doubled my warmup time but I added a minute, so I ended up doing the same distance that I did on Friday (1.03 mile). Now, however, my lower back is killing me (although that might be mostly due to PMS). I'm thinking about pulling out my heating pad.

Good thing was that it was so warm outside, even at 7:15 when I got home, that I was able to turn off the HVAC unit (that I had at minimal heat, anyway) and open up the sliding door to the balcony. Now, of course, it's a tad chilly, but the fresh air is so nice I'll leave it open for a bit.
