See I don't care a whit for morning darkness. I'm either sleeping in, drinking coffee or going to work. Might as well do those things in the dark.
Morning sunlight improves my outlook. It will only be a few weeks before it adapts, so it's no big, but for those areas of the country that do get actual winter, this more hours outdoors business is for the birds until it warms up considerably, and Markey knows it.
Happy Birthday Tommyrot!
I went back to sleep accidentally, after I made coffee but before I could drink it.

DVR self-adjusted, the dvd/vcr didn't. All the computers and cell phones did. That leaves the clocks and watches to reset. Microwave, coffeemaker, check.
Happy Birthday, Tommy!
I'm with Hec on loving the light after work. I'm most depressed when I don't see sun all week, going in and coming home in the dark. And it usually rains those weekends, too. I get snarly and bite.
I don't mind getting up with first light or even earlier. In fact, I'd vote to leave DST in place all year. It's the switching back and forth that makes me grumpy.
I don't hate DST, just the much earlier start to it, this year. I would rather stay the same time all year, though. They should split the difference between standard and DST, is what they should do.
Happy Birthday Tommyrot!
My motivation to get anything done today has just evaporated. I think best friend's son absorbed all the energy I should have in the process of fidgeting himself into a higher dimension at dinner last night. (He's ADHD and they let him off his meds on weekends so his appetite will improve.)
Happy Birthday, Tommyrot!!
I missed the lap swim this morning by sleeping through it, but there is an open swim from 1-4:30 during which they're supposed to leave a few laps up for people to swim without having to dodge kids. SInce it's already almost noon, I'll have to head over in 30 minutes to claim my half-lane.
Then, when I get home, I'm showering then heading over to a friend's house at 4:00 for a birthday party (must remember to stop by Walgreens for a card and something small for a gift). He just called to invite me--sort of last minute, but I don't care, it'll be fun.
I have hives. Or an allergic reaction. Or something. And 24 hours to endure before I can see my doctor.
Still, though, I love that I can call for an appointment Sunday morning and get in the next day.
t not scratching, not scratching
Eeek, Dana. Can you take some antihistmines in the meantime.
I find the older I get, the more that one hour shift in time discombobulates me.
It's 2 pm and I just finished breakfast. Including coffee I made for myself that was undrinkable. Bleachh! I am still uncaffeinated and inertia seems to be an overwhelming force in my life these days.
Okay, that hour's sleep wasn't bad. But I can still feel the night's terror in my arms. At least my head no longer hates me.
Happy Birthday, tommyrot!
I love daylight savings, although today is a day in which I could particularly use that hour. I'm so not a morning person that it doesn't matter what's going on outside. It could be dark; we could suddenly have been transported to another dimension. I wouldn't pay much attention to it until about 10. It's more light while I'm awake that I love.
This DST change is annoying for its sheer stupidity, though. It was about the only concrete thing to come out of various government commitees supposedly devoted to saving energy. While daylight savings saved energy when we were less dependent on artificial light, there's evidence that it won't make any difference in energy consumption today. It clearly didn't even occur to them the havoc it could wreak in computer systems.
