I walk. I talk. I shop, I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out. And I don't sleep on a bed of bones.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's like the car version of the bean in Chicago.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My strategy for dealing with the lost hour is to pretend it never happened. I just keep telling myself that the new current time is normal and nothing's changed. This works, except if I see a clock that hasn't been reset, the whole illusion falls apart, like that Christopher Reeve time-travel movie when he sees a modern penny....

OMG, I've been up for more than an hour before I remembered - today is my birthday!

Fun. So far I have nothing planned....

Somewhere in Time! I LOVE that movie.

What is even happening?

Happy Birthday, tommyrot!!!

Your birthday falls just a week after mine. I will have to remember that, next year.

I suppose you could wait until he's asleep and change the clocks then and not tell him....

It's too late now, but also, he has to get over it. I know that sounds a little heartless, and I wasn't heartless with him at all, I was patient and explainful. But speaking as a change-is-bad devotee, myself, I think there are things you just have to get used to. Last night, when he was so very much not liking that his brother set their bedroom clock ahead, I taught him the Serenity Prayer, and explained this is one of those "Accept the things I cannot change," times.

He'll be over it in a day or so. I'm pretty sure he was a little perturbed when we set back the clocks last fall, too.

I'm going to be pissed tomorrow when I have to wake up in the dark again.

Me too, and it was my own Congressional Rep who started this let's-do-it-earlier nonsense. I think it's ridiculous.

No really - this has got to be the shiniest car evah! Especially cool in larger photos:

I wouldn't want to be behind it on a sunny day. Yeeeeeesh.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Stoooopid time change!

So I'm wearing one of the wraparound dresses with a camisole. Kinda stabbing in the dark with the colour combo, but I think it works okay. The other one, which is pale beige with a black print might be a little harder to work. But for tonight, well set. Thanks for the loan, Kat!

The red dress, ita? No problem about the loan! Better that clothes get worn than they sit in a closet or a box.

My ribs hurt like you wouldn't believe. Someone jammed a body part beneath them and has been trying to separate my body rib by rib ever since. Seriously, I wish they'd stop.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Happy birthday, tommyrot!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Happy birthday, tommyrot!

Yeah, kat, you got quite a few body parts jammed there.

My head hurts like whoah, and I still haven't recovered from what feels like a night full of nightmares. I don't have nightmares. It was terrible. No idea what they were about, but I'm still feeling the after effects physically.

I have to teach at 10:30 and 11:30, and do black belt training at 12:30. I am a massive idiot, and one who doesn't feel like she slept at all.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Quite hating on the time changes! I lurves it.

Clearly I am a time-cheater in Christopher's estimation.

We have no coffee in the house.

How can this be?!

I'm going to have to walk two whole blocks to buy buckets of latte and new beans.
