We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I think Amarna is losing more weight--yay! Her sides are getting trim, but she still has a bit of a sagging belly right in the middle. Too bad she can't do sit-ups to tighten that up. Her claws are getting a bit sharp already (they were trimmed when she had her teeth cleaned a month ago), but she's going back to the vets on the 31st for her distemper shot and I'm having them trim her claws then, too. I'll have them weigh her as well, so I can verify the weight loss.

Speaking of exercising, I skipped going to the center to get on the treadmill last night, because of how bad the weather was driving home (blowing snow made it a real nightmare). I've still got the clothes in the car, and have to do some shopping today, so I'll probably run over there after getting everything purchased. I did stop by Walgreens on the way home for some much-needed supplies, and also got some chocolate, though. I always seem to crave sweets when the weather gets nasty, for some reason.

Well, would the overall fitness of the kitty come into play?

I don't know. You would think kitties would be pretty lean, but I don't know about my chunky kitties. (One of whom is trying sit on my hands as I type.)

Okay, I'm packing up the clothes in my hall closet, which are mostly summer clothes. But on some of the long term residents in there--my jean jacket from high shcool, an old winter coat and my most beloved suede jacket that just doesn't quite fit anymore--Ive discovered mold growing. So gross! I'm pretty devastated about the suede jacket. I can't see paying to get it professionally cleaned (I paid $5 at the sally ann for it) but it kills me to think of getting rid of it.

The thing is, there's not a lot of eating of wild cats out there to generally know what kind of meat they are.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

None of you are invited to meet my cats.

I've found an article on cats as food, apparently, depending on how they are prepared, they taste like rabbit or, surprise, surprise, chicken: [link]

DO NOT look at that link if the thought of cats being sold as food breaks your heart. There are pictures.

There is this quote:

Where they are sold for meat, a plump adult cat offers better eating than a small kitten.

I guess when you think of it, chubby pet cats are like those farmedanimals that they don't want to have moving much so thier meat stays tender.

What is even happening?

I don't know if fat affects glycemic index, or not. I wouldn't think so, but am not sure.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Fat brings the glycemic index down, I think. Because it slows the digestion of the carbs, or something.

I am so tired I'm woozy. I haven't gotten more than 4 hours sleep a night all week. I think maybe I'm getting too much thyroid medication. Anyone have any experience with thyroid meds?

What is even happening?

Before we bought this house we looked at a fascinating Victorian, that had a passageway between 2 bedrooms. We loved it, but it was in horrible shape. We would have had to sink unrthinkable amounts of money to make it live-innable.

I would love a secret room. One of my recurrung dreams from childhood featured all these hidden rooms off my parents' cellar.
