Kaylee: You're nice, too. Mal: No, I'm not. I'm a mean old man.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Sign me up for a weekend, at least, too.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

YAY! I totally will!

You'd better. Just give me enough lead time to board the cat.

I'm kinda smitten with wee frustrated things. Hell, I'm half in love with yours since they were 7 mm (not that they were frustrated. Just...I enjoy wee frustrations regardless.) My mom too. She wants you & lori to visit with them. I laughed.

(Seriously, I've dealt with classic trauma-inducing babies and kids. But since they aren't mine, I don't panic. But the idea that if they were mine? PANIC-CITY.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'd babysit the Katlings.

I have a calming influence on infants. This is the karmic balance for the way I irritate adults, I expect.

Poor ita's noggin, and bottled up fury. Maybe you should watch Kiss, Kiss Bang Bang? It'd distract.

I thought of you during the scene when Gay!Perry talks about why experts prefer five feet of distance when holding a gun on somebody.

We've eaten chicken and quesadilla and raspberries. Now Emmett will have some ice cream with chocolate syrup and it all smushed into a gloriously smooshed up hand-made soft-serve.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Fuck five. I'd pick ten. Seven at least.

I think I'm going to drug myself and fall asleep watching Life On Mars.

The waking world is just making me tense.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

ita, i hope the sleeping world treats you better than the waking world has today. I'm sending good, pain-free thoughts your way.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Does anyone want to call Kinkos and get my book postcard thingies produced? Overwhelmed.

Publicity department screwed it all up and now I have to get them done so I'll have something for the wondercon thing.

My head is too full to accomplish much more than washing my face before bed.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Ugh. Today was a rough one - we had one day to not only proof an entire book but also make any digital changes needed and send the files to the printer. And Intermediate Boss, who is far and away our most perfectionist set of eyes, happened to have today free to look for errors. Which she found. Boy did she find them.

In the end it makes for far fewer mistakes, but I really wish her free day to take a look had fallen early last week when we were copyediting the thing in-house, I had plenty of time to make changes, and doing so wouldn't have cost us any money.

On the bright side I'm now home, well fed, and once again driving my own good-as-new car.

Has anyone actually gotten any use out of an insurance nurse/health coach? I'm beginning to think they're rudimentary AIs sitting in front of WebMD.
