"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Ugh. Today was a rough one - we had one day to not only proof an entire book but also make any digital changes needed and send the files to the printer. And Intermediate Boss, who is far and away our most perfectionist set of eyes, happened to have today free to look for errors. Which she found. Boy did she find them.

In the end it makes for far fewer mistakes, but I really wish her free day to take a look had fallen early last week when we were copyediting the thing in-house, I had plenty of time to make changes, and doing so wouldn't have cost us any money.

On the bright side I'm now home, well fed, and once again driving my own good-as-new car.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Has anyone actually gotten any use out of an insurance nurse/health coach? I'm beginning to think they're rudimentary AIs sitting in front of WebMD.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Does anyone want to call Kinkos and get my book postcard thingies produced? Overwhelmed.

I can do it, Allyson. I'm well-versed in getting postcards published and dealing with Kinko's. Want to e me the details?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I just called and it's so ridiculously expensive I can't afford it, Juliana. I'm so grrrr at the publicity department right now that my teeth are vibrating from the rage.

Hmmmm. Okay, that sucks.

An (cheap, not as pretty, but better than nothing) alternative would be to print B&W 2- or 4-to-a-page flyer-type things and hand them out. Not as professional, but it would help get the word out?

Tell me if I'm not helping, by the way.

I'm thinking color copies would be much cheaper, in a flyer, Juliana. Yup yup.

Mostly, I'd love to do stickers, to tell the truth.

How much are Avery stickers at Staples, and do you have access to a color printer? If not, I do, and I could FedEx or courier them (is the con this weekend?).

Flyers are good. Not ideal, but good.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Allyson, I have a metric buttload of 4x6 glossy picture paper and a picture printer. If you emailed me an image or whatnot, I could print out a bunch for you to take. Be more than happy to do it for you.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

And I've got access to a color copier, so if you wanted to do color flyers, just send me the file and I'll send the copies back. Just let me know how many you want.

(If the con is this weekend, I'll send them via FedEx tomorrow and you'll have them Friday morning.)
