That's quite a burn on Dreamgirls! I guess they must have split the vote.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

But I feel a little bad for her here, since they let Jennifer Hudson sing a verse of her song. Because Hudson is a significantly better singer, which most people wouldn't notice except when they go one after the other like that.

yeah, that's probably why we got all of the glory noteing and dramatics, she was trying to make up for the weakness of her voice versus Jennifer Hudson. She was really terrific in the movie. Dramatic, but controlled.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't believe I'm staying up for this. What is my problem.

Edit: And I typed that before I realized it was going to be a fucking montage! They always do this, and it always makes me nuts -- you're running late; cut the fucking montage!!

Hey. New board.

I agree. I thought the acting in that movie was stellar across the board, minus Jamie Foxx. Who I wanted to make disappear.

Because books.

I can't believe it's still on. Was it scheduled to run till midnight? Or are they just disregarding all efforts to stay on schedule?

Hey. New board.

My alarm is set for 3 a.m. because I have work to do in the morning... I'm seriously an idiot. Also, I REALLY am trying to forget that school starts again tomorrow after a week off.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Going back to the Clint Eastwood translating for Morricone thing....

I read somewhere, a while back, that Eastwood speaks Italian. If this would have been a pre-translated speech, he would have had as much trouble reading the teleprompter as he did during his introduction of Morricone.

The translation was good, too. The difference between the lengthy Italian and short English translation at the beginning of the speech has to do with some stopping and starting on Morricone's part, and the use of a verb tense that requires two words in Italian for one word in English.

So far, I haven't been impressed by the clothing. Though I loved seeing the duly-elected President on stage. What a different world this would be if only....
