I knew the guy who plays the sun, Haynes Brooke
Love him, and the concept, so much. In a rush here, gotta warm the planet.

so far my picks aren't doing too well. i hope this doesn't mean bad things for Leo and The Departed.
I loved Pan's but that doesn't mean I'm mad - I haven't seen Lives of Others. Just surprised. Pan's labyrinth has a 98 on metacritic. That's the fifth highest rating EVER, and most of the top four are re-releases (like, say, The Godfather). Usually, critical adoration goes along well with things like "Foreign Language Film." Though Lives of Others is holding pretty strong there, too, so whatevs.
I did not realize a Guggenheim (is he related to THOSE Guggenheims?) made an Inconvenient Truth. Well, Al doesn't get the presidency, but he does get an Oscar.
I kinda like the fact that Al does concise. I mean, he's so soundbiteable!
Hugs Al. Well done.
Celine's Oscar fashion sense hasn't improved much.
Is he seriously making this speech in Italian? That's kind of great.
I'm starting to think the "Hilary and Obama slowly tear each other down and Al Gore sweeps in closer to primaries and saves the day" Presidential Campaign Plan is becoming more and more likely. I mean, he's definitely blown off some of the "unhip" image he had going in 2000.
I like that theory, Gris. I really do.
I am certainly not opposed to it. And as obvious mentorees of the Clinton administration all, it has some serious poetry. I'd take 8 with Gore, 8 with Hil, and 8 with Obama for the second half of my life...
