I'm thinking about buying something very expensive. Maybe an antelope.

The pointed failure-to-get-the-message coming out of corporate still astonishes me.

I can't believe I'm actually hoping for snow. If only because otherwise, it's ice and that would really really suck.

Allyson!!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My brain isn't working properly today, and I'm working on some fairly complex SQL. Or at least trying to. I'm just making mistakes left and right. I should go home, right?

Our wings are not tired.

Yes Tom, no good can come from staying at work any longer. Go home.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm about to drown in saccharine. Mr. Jane just called to tell me he heard a story that reminded him of me- that Ryan Secrest asked John Mayer about Jessica Simpson, and he answered in Japanese, which ended up translating to "Jessica Simpson is beautiful in a way you will never understand."

I'm not usually this much of a sap, but I think I'll make it through the rest of the day with a smile on my face.

Oh for the love of....

Apparently, they are going to clean my office carpet. Which they scheduled for 5:30. At least a quarter of the staff normally works past 5:30. (I don't, but today's craziness...)

No one told me anything. Gee, thanks!

eta: also? People have their computers on the floor!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Kristin and Maria!

Congrats Allyson! Would it be ok if I suggested to a bookseller at the con I'm attending that he should carry your book? I think there would be a market at the cons where he sells books.(general and filk cons)

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I heard this morning that we would have 4-8 inches of snow, so I've been putting together some work so that I could work from home tomorrow. Just checked the weather channel, and it says accumulation of less than one inch. hmm.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Steph, snow accumulation of less than one inch. The sleet and freezing rain is going to make driving a bitch in the area, and it's supposed to continue into Wednesday.

I'm packing up the laptop and working from home tomorrow. In my neck of the woods, we're supposed to get the 4-8 inches.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

That's fabulous news, Allyson. I'll be pimping your book to my mom; I'm not sure how many she'll get for her bookstore, but she is a genius book saleswoman and I guarantee that however many she gets, she'll sell and then end up needing to order more copies due to other customers eavesdropping on the people she's pimping the book at.

And now I'm wondering how many of my family and non-Buffista friends will get me copies of your book for my birthday and Christmas this year, with little notes saying, "This sounded so right for you!"

Also? You would be delicious on Jon Stewart.
