"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

(I have chocolate chip cookies, too. In the freezer. You are not helping.)

And for dinner tonight I'm planning on chicken linguine with asparagus and pine nuts.

Please tell me you don't have that in your freezer.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Does everyone get the Oscars live? If so, it's a major drawback to living on the east coast -- I think I've gone to one Oscars party and stayed through the whole show, because it's just too darn late on a Sunday!

Also, how long do bananas take to get ripe? What I mean to ask is, what should they look like today if they're going to be perfect on Monday?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ummm....

Nope. I have it in my fridge.

Okay, not the chicken linguine. But I do have asparagus and pine nuts, and I do need to do something with them before I leave for the week.

Regular yellow bananas? Man, I actually do not know. I think the ones I bought last Thursday were greenish, and they're just fully ripe now. They're supposed to be best when deep yellow and spotted with brown. If I let them go too long, I toss them in the freezer for to make bread.

Nope. I have it in my fridge.

Apparently we are food twins today.

OK, that's good to know. For myself, I just buy whatever and eat them when they seem good, but these are for someone else.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I swear I'm not food stalking you. Heh.

I'd like to go visit Liese and shrift. I have stuff in the kitchen, I just don't want to do anything. And I really need to get out of the house and go to the grocery store for staples (can't run out of coffee and cream!) and I'm dreading that there will be a mob scene due to the predicted "wintery mix" starting tonight. Blah.

I was sitting here wondering why I was so cold. When I turned down the heat last night? I turned it down to 58. Brrr.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

A) I had very productiveness filled plans for the day

B) I went back to bed after I shot up Ozzie.

C) A and B turn out to be unmixy things.

D) Oh well. At least I started my laundry and made coffee.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

At least I started my laundry and made coffee.

This is no small accomplishment.

Edited to add: My 9:30 lesson showed up sometime after 10:00. I dunno exactly when, 'cause I had another lesson! So I had to take him at 10:30. I now believe I have the right to blame any subsequent lack of productivity on that lost half hour.
