So what are people doing this weekend?

tonight Matt gets to judge a teen talent contest. I'm going along. Sat is dinner with friends. and filling out all my health care and other stuff for work. possibly there will be some house picking up. So far sunday looks like Matt will be helping someone get past a stupid hump in a job interview. and I have no plans, but I might do some beading.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Parker Stevenson's neck has never been big enough.

Hey ita, I need new jeans too. Wanna go shopping? Except I'll need a babysitter if I actually want to try on clothes.

Oops. Already did. Spent money on jeans maybe I shouldn't have, but now I have two pairs of (non-exercise) pants in the house that fit. The same style jeans I'm wearing now, but one size up, and these pants. The only freaking pair of pants in the store that could fit my hips and my waist, and even then, just barely. It might seem that lowriding pants would solve this problem, but not enough of my tops are long enough to make that work-appropriate. With coupon and gift card, it was almost like not spending money at all.

I had to do the shopping-challenged version of buying, which is walking up to the cash register and telling the person there what I needed "These ones I'm wearing, but in 28" or "Relatively highwaisted work-appropriate pants in black or grey that are generous in the hip." Then they do the looking and I just trail them absent mindedly.

I know what I like, I really do. I just blame all the stores for not having them.

And now to eat and to succumb to this migraine which is stabbing through my left eye with some vigour.

Fucker.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Me too! We should meet up.

My friend L is getting there by 6, so she can save us a seat! Downstairs, pool room, back patio, basketball court or upstairs?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ah well, good for you ita for having new jeans. I will continue with my even more shopping challenged version, which is usually to not go shopping at all because I can't seem to make time to try on 40 gazillion pairs of jeans, nor can I find it in me to fork over the $150 that they inevitably cost in LA... and then to one day stumble upon a pair of jeans that happen to fit and happen to only cost $25 and buy them.

At least that's how I bought the last pair, but that was about 3 years ago.

My past three pairs were bought with Kat. I'm willing to spend the money (okay, less so now, but they've gotten ahold of my immortal soul) if the fuckers fit. For about 20 years, I was only needing them to not fall off.

This fitting thing is new, and I guess I'm spending the money to limit the amount of trying on I have to do.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Uh-Oh. I still have more than 2 hours of work left, and I'm almost out of fic to read.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My past three pairs were bought with Kat.

Hey! What about the pair I sized for you??

This weekend, I'm going to make that no-knead bread, and possibly something else in the dutch oven as well, but I don't know what. Also some laundry and cleaning the kitchen (theoretically), and a lot of relaxing.

She's good that way. The last time I went shopping I was with her, and we somehow ended up buying the same skirt and tee shirt.

The jeans I was alone, found them while I was window shopping and waiting to get a haircut. That's also how, last summer, I tried on a lovely pair of jeans that were $150 and I realized that I just couldn't spend that much on jeans. A dress, yes; shoes, yes; jeans, no.

Is that the one with the watery dough that you leave in the fridge for a couple of days? Tell me how it turns out. Even better, can you send me the recipe?
