Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hey Strega - did you just get home? You often seem to show up here around 4:45 Central (just before I usually go home).

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

...If you could step over here and tell me the specifics, that would help me out a lot. How does that sound?"

Step over here... a little further... NOW! OPEN THE TRAP DOOR!!

Heh. tommyrot and I have similar trains of thought. Mine was:

"...if you could step out behind the chemical sheds, we'll deal with this promptly."

Yes, it's almost as if... collections people, every now and then... stretch the truth just a tiny bit....

OK, off to catch bus....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, you should get more details on customer dissatisfaction. It's perfectly possible that an employee did act like an asshole. Unlikely, but that's why you ask for more information.

Off the phone with UCLA Practice Plan. Oh, she explained and she explained and she told me about my health plan coverage, but my questions made her read the entire file, not just the notes of the last call, and now she's really confused, including as to why I'm in collections since I've been calling on this since September '06 and no one has ever explained it to me.

Uh, her manager's out today, but she'll call me tomorrow.

Ugh. "As to why." I hate saying that. But I'm not fixing the sentence. I need to go refile my documents. And then nap off this incipient migraine.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

On the way home I saw a car with the license plate: IM DEAF.

And I bet people still honk.

I don't think the owner should have reacted defensively, I'm just saying I think letting her know that Mike hadn't had any complaints was a good idea.

Also, HA! I just got one of those calls where the girl said her name and then waited expectantly. Had to hold in the laughter.

Heh, yes. Though it's also because I've been slacking off all week and leaving early; usually I stay till 6. And, um, post from the office instead.

And this conversation reminds me that I need to call UPS and tell them how much they suck. Sigh. Today they returned some stuff I ordered even though 1) according to their own schedule, I should have been able to pick it up today, and 2) I never got the card telling me I had to pick up anything, so it's lucky I happened to check the tracking #. And the usual 3) why the hell won't they just leave stuff at my door instead of making me sign for it?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Speaking of sucking, why is it that there seems to be such a long lagtime between order and delivery at Amazon these days? The last three orders have shipped two to three WEEKS after I made the order. They used to be so quick.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Isn't there a checkbox on the card (not that they left you one) that you can mark to get them to leave it without a sig. Also, why is the time on the card (not that they left you one) usually a time at which you or your neighbors were at home.

In sum, they suck.

Oh, I got to go by the DHL guy's house when I went back home. Seriously strange guy.
